Welcome to Indented Head Yacht Club

Indented Head Yacht Club (IHYC) is a vibrant water sports club located at Indented Head beach. IHYC is well-suited for watersports, with vehicle access to a superb grassed rigging area, clubhouse, toilets, hot showers and safe swimming.

Who we are

We welcome all sailors from beginners to expert, and sail a range of OTB classes including Olympic class ILCA, as well as Tasers, Sabres, Impulses and Optis.

IHYC is also home to the Salty B!tches, who enjoy a daily swim at Indented Head. The Salty Bitches is a group of swimmers who love to swim and laugh on the beautiful Bellarine. Mostly women, and a few men, we love to challenge ourselves to step outside our comfort zone all year round.

Our Events

Wreck2Reef Open Water Swim

IHYC hosts the annual Wreck2Reef Open Water Swim, sponsored by Neville Richards.

Wreck2Reef 2027 is on Saturday, 13 February 2027, and registration opens on 1st December 2026.

Sail Bellarine

The Sail Bellarine regatta is hosted by Indented Head Yacht Club, with support from St Leonards Yacht Club.

Sail Bellarine 2027 is scheduled for 1 & 2 May 2027 with invited classes being ILCA, Flying Dutchman, OK Dinghy, Opti, RS Aero, Sabre and Tasar.

IHYC Clubhouse Rebuild project

Our vision

'By 2030, the IHYC clubhouse will be a multi-purpose facility supporting sailing, swimming, boating and locals.  The facility will cater to people of all ages and meet the growing needs of members for the next 70 years.'
